08.05.2010

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of our school, a Symposium was held on 8 May, 2010 and it was a special occasion for us to review what we had been doing in the past few years on different aspects and see how we could take up challenges facing the changing education system. We were honoured to have invited Professor Chung Yue-ping (鍾宇平教授) and Dr. Chiu Chi-sing (趙志成博士) to be our keynote speaker and honorary speaker respectively. They shared with us their professional views on the theme ‘Opportunities and Challenges in a Changing Education System’. The second part of the Symposium was divided into 4 parallel sessions - EMI Language Across the Curriculum, Liberal Studies, Value Education and Action Learning. Some guest speakers and Tak Oi teachers were invited to share their valuable hands-on experiences in these four aspects. It was believed that through more interactions with the professional teachers, we could better equip ourselves with some strategies to cope with the challenges brought by the education reforms and the changing education system.

First School Assembly
3.9.2009

The first school assembly was held on 3rd September 2009. Our school Supervisor, Principal, and Committee Heads unfolded the school theme ‘Strengthening Our Learning Community’ for the development cycle 2009-2012, highlighting the objectives, major focuses and expectations.

The acronym ‘TOPs’ embedded in the slogan ‘We are TOPs’ best explains the vision of this development cycle – we are ‘Tak Oi Persons’ with ‘Targets’ and the most cherished values ‘Optimism’ and ‘Perseverance’.

Strategies for being ‘TOPs’ entail 3Es –'Exploration', 'Exposure' and 'Exhibition'. In this regard, some teachers and a S6 student shared with the audiences how they have been striving hard to reach out and to affirm their achievements.

The effort of all our S6 students in surrounding the whole assembly together with a big piece of self-tied rope brought the assembly to a climax, signifying unity, energy and harmony.
