Religious event and activity in January 2020

First Mass for S6 students

In order to send blessings to S6 students and to empower them with courage to face for the upcoming Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education examination, a Mass was organized on 10th January 2020 at Our Lady of Charity Chapel at school. Father Roland Jablonski, OFM was invited as the celebrant of the Mass. In his homily, Father Roland shared with students a video and a song. Father Roland encouraged S6 students to open their hearts to receive the touches of grace from the Lord, just as if the leper received the touch of grace from Jesus Christ. Towards the end of the Mass, special blessings were given to the S6 students through the laying of hands of the Father. We wish all our S6 students their best in the future.

Matteo Ricci The Musical

Twenty-two S6 students and ten teachers watched “Matteo Ricci The Musical” organized by Ethics and Religious Education Department on 9 January and 10 January 2020 respectively. The musical tells the story of Matteo Ricci's mission in China in the late 16th and early 17th centuries and how Matteo faced conflicting Chinese and Western customs. Enveloped by hostility, Matteo Ricci struggled alone through dark times in this Eastern nation, establishing the Matteo Ricci’s Method, which combined elements of both Chinese and Western cultures. The messages of appreciating and respecting cultural differences and having faith in God in times of difficulty were well-dissembled.
